Yard Grading, Fresh Landscape Beds and Mulch in Glen Raven NC

This Glen Raven home had a front yard that just wasn't doing the house any favors. Uneven ground, no defined beds, and nothing to frame the front of the home. It's the kind of yard that blends into the background - and not in a good way.

We started with some light yard grading to smooth things out and get the ground sitting properly before anything else went in. Getting the grade right first is something a lot of people skip, but it makes a real difference in how the finished work holds up and looks over time.

From there, we cut in fresh landscape beds and laid down brown mulch throughout. The mulch does two things - it gives the front of the home a clean, finished look right away, and it helps hold moisture and keep weeds down going forward. That dark brown against the red brick is a combination that just works.

The difference between the before and after here is hard to miss. What was once a rough, uneven front yard now has structure and definition. The home itself hasn't changed at all, but it reads completely differently from the street.

Projects like this are a good reminder that curb appeal doesn't always require a big overhaul. Sometimes it's grading, beds, and the right mulch - done well - that's all it takes to make a house actually look like someone's home.
