Mulch has a short shelf life. It fades, breaks down, floats away after a hard rain, and has to be replaced year after year. It's one of those ongoing costs that most homeowners just accept - but they don't have to.

River rock is a completely different story. Once it's down, it's down. It holds its color, stays in place, and keeps the beds looking sharp without any seasonal touch-ups. That's a big deal if you're tired of spending money on the same beds every spring.

What we did here is a great example of what a rock swap can do for a front yard. The foundation beds and tree rings went from dark mulch to a clean layer of river rock, and the difference is immediate. The yard didn't change - the structure didn't change - but the whole front of the house reads as sharper and more intentional.

River rock also works hard behind the scenes. In areas with drainage issues, slopes, or spots where mulch just won't stay put, rock is the smarter choice. It lets water move through while keeping everything in place. It's not just a looks upgrade - it's a practical one too.

We're booking installs right now. Whether you've got a full foundation bed, a tree ring, or a slope that's been giving you trouble, river rock is worth a serious look.
