New construction homes are exciting - but that bare dirt yard? Not so much. It's one of the most common things we see when we come out to a new build. The builder finishes the house, the driveway gets poured, the landscaping goes in around the foundation, and then the front yard is just sitting there - raw, exposed, and waiting.

That's exactly where we come in. Getting seed down the right way on a new construction lot takes more than just throwing some grass seed around. The ground needs to be properly graded so water moves away from the home, the seed needs good contact with the soil, and the straw cover needs to be laid evenly to hold moisture and protect the seed while it germinates. Skip any one of those steps and you're going to have problems.

We serve homeowners all across the area - Gibsonville, Burlington, Whitsett, Elon, Mebane, Greensboro, and the surrounding communities. A lot of our calls come from people who just closed on a new home and are trying to figure out what to do with the yard situation the builder left them with. We handle finish grading, seeding, straw application, drainage work - all of it.

A yard that looks rough right now isn't a lost cause. With the right prep and the right approach, it fills in cleaner than most people expect. We've done this enough times to know what works and what doesn't, and we're straightforward about what your yard actually needs versus what's just extra.

If your yard has been on your mind lately - whether it's a new build, a drainage headache, or just an overgrown mess - reach out to Berry's Lawn and Land and we'll come take a look.
