Front Yard Landscape Bed Renovation with Fresh Mulch and Stone Edging

Here's what we were working with - a front landscape bed that had basically lost its shape. No real border definition, overgrown and patchy, and nothing tying the front of the home together. It's one of those situations where the house itself is sharp, but the landscaping just isn't keeping up with it.

We started by getting a proper border in place using natural stone edging. That step alone does a lot of the heavy lifting. Once you have a clean, defined edge running along the bed, everything inside it suddenly looks intentional. It separates the lawn from the planting area and gives the whole front of the home a more finished, put-together look.

From there, we brought in fresh plants - low-growing shrubs and an evergreen - spaced out and planted with room to grow. New plants in a cleaned-out bed hit different when the foundation is right. We finished it off with a deep layer of dark mulch across the entire bed. It locks in moisture, cuts down on weed pressure, and honestly just looks great against the stone border and the brick on the house.

The difference between before and after is the kind of thing neighbors notice. A front bed like this is the first thing anyone sees when they pull up. When it's dialed in, it pulls the whole property up with it. When it's not, it can drag down an otherwise nice-looking home.
